Turkey Trotting Through Jackson

You've got all of the food, the recipies are spread out on the counter, the meat thermometer is ready to go... now you just need a way to squeeze in a little bit of exercise on the day famous for over indulgence. If you're going to be in Jackson this Turkey Day, head down to the Teton County / Jackson Rec Center (155 East Gill Street) today until four or tomorrow between 8:15 and 8:45 a.m. to sign up for the 17th Annual Turkey Trot.

This Jackson classic takes runners 5K (3.1 miles) through town. Walkers start at 8:45 a.m. and will not be timed. Runners start at 9:15 a.m. Pre-race registration is $20 and race day registration is $26. Your registration fee includes: a long sleeve, technical fabric souvenir shirt, post race refreshments and the opportunity to win great raffle prizes.

You can also bring an old pair of athletic shoes (any brand) to be recycled in Nike's Reuse-A-Shoe program. No shoes containing metal, cleats or lights will be accepted. No wet or damp shoes, please.

So, get out and sign up! Or, if you'd rather, race volunteers are still needed. Contact 307-739-9025 for more information.
