The October issue of Skiing Magazine has an inviting cover with the promise of "10 Best Resorts" awarded on the inside pages. Rated by skiers and readers on "Sickest Steeps, Deepest Powder, and 37 Other Things that Matter," the issue outlines this year's most notable resorts with Jackson Hole coming in a whopping second place! That's right, among all of the ski resorts in all of the country (and some of Canada), Skiing's readers voted Jackson Hole 1st in Best Backcountry Access, 9th in Best Powder, 2nd in Best Steeps, 4th in Best Trees, Best All-inclusive Package and we got an Honorable Mention for the Music Scene at the Mangy Moose in Teton Village. Combine these top placements and you've got a 2nd Best Overall Ski Resort, just behind Whistler-Blackcomb in British Columbia.  

With the installment of the new tram this winter, we're guessing we'll have a good shot at that Number 1 spot next year, but until then, we'll take the advice of Skiing's readers and hit the slopes, the steeps, the powder, the trees, and the backcountry and finish it all off with some nachos and rockin' good times at the Moose. To all of those who voted Jackson Hole their favorite, we thank you. And to all of those who didn't, we hope that our "whole package" good time will be enough to prompt you check it out this winter.
