The Jackson Hole Film Festival is set to begin on Thursday, June 5th. The Festival will feature some of the best in independent, international, short and action sports film throughout its five day run. Perhaps most exciting is the addition of this year's Global Insight Summit. Prominent actors, directors, writers, and other film makers will join UN Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon to discuss the role of film and television plays with important global issues. The Summit aims to raise public awareness of these problems and the UN's role in addressing them.
Summit Events include:
A welcome address by the Secretary-General to attendees from the film and television community and the public.
Small group meetings between the Secretary-General, senior UN officials and leading members of the entertainment industry to discuss world events, to highlight UN activities, and to discuss ways to engage the world on specific neglected and critical issues.
Panels open to the public, focusing on the theme (to be announced) of the Global Insight Summit. Panel participants may include Goodwill Ambassadors, UN senior officials, media figures and national leaders.
Private networking reception and dinner for the entertainment industry and UN officials.
The Summit will be complemented by a selection of films that demonstrate the power of media in global issues and the Global Insight Film Award will be given to the film that best demonstrates using film to help highlight important global issues.
