Tram Construction On Schedule

Even though we're in the throws of spring and almost summer, it's hard not to be thinking about next winter, especially with lots of snow still in the high country and the promise of a new tram. And tram construction seems to be on track as crews work around the clock to help ensure that the "tramformation" goes smoothly and skiers and snowboarders are able to board the new mountain ship come December 2008.

Since the mountain closed on April 6th, crews have made strides, dismantling Towers 1, 2 and 3 and completing construction of New Tram Tower 1. New Tower 3 construction began on May 5th. 36 containers have arrived from Europe containing the necessary pieces and parts.

Assuming all goes smoothly and the summer weather cooperates, the new tram is schedule to leave the dock for the first time in December, just in time for the 2008/2009 ski season (11/29/08 - 4/5/09) at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.

To celebrate the new tram, Jackson Hole Central Reservations is already offering great deals for the upcoming season, including an early season special, which includes 4 nights lodging in the town of Jackson and 3 days skiing at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort from November 29th - December 15th. If you can't make it before December 15th, but still want to take advantage of what is sure to be an amazing tram-filled season, take advantage of our Jackson Hole Winter Getaway, which also offers 4 nights lodging in the town of Jackson and 3 days skiing at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort for $369 per person if booked for December 16th - 24th, 2008 or January 4th - April 6th, 2009. Both packages include a free ski shuttle from town to Teton Village.
