Independence Day is one of our favorite holidays to celebrate in Jackson Hole and this year the 4th falls on a Tuesday. For those of you lucky enough to be spending your holiday with us, we have the top nine things to do as we celebrate! Here are the top events you won’t want to miss including music, rodeo, a parade, and three sets of fireworks!
1. Town Square Pancake Breakfast
Take part in this annual tradition, an all-American smorgasbord in Town Square! The Jackson Hole Lions Club will help get your 4th of July started off right with an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast from 7:00 am – 10:00 am.
2. 4th of July Parade in Downtown Jackson
After you’ve polished off that final pancake, head over to Snow King Avenue to check out the annual 4th of July parade! Starting at 10:30 am, the parade winds down Snow King Avenue to Glenwood, turns onto Broadway and ends on Willow street. We recommend grabbing a front-row seat in front of the Center for the Arts on Glenwood Ave. It’s the spot with the best view...and the most candy! "
3. Patriotic Pops by Grand Teton Music Festival
On Tuesday evening at 6:00 pm, head over to Walk Festival Hall in Teton Village for a patriotic pops concert featuring the Grand Teton Music Festival orchestra. This is a free concert that the whole family will enjoy! While it is a free event, it still requires reserving tickets. For tickets and more concert information click here.
4. Town Square Shootout
The 4th of July in Jackson always has a special Wild West twist! Swing by Town Square at 6:00 pm to catch a reenactment of frontier justice. This is the longest continuously-running shootout in the country!
5. Jackson Hole Rodeo
The whole family will love an action-packed evening at the Jackson Hole Rodeo! Starting at 8 pm, the rodeo features all kinds of traditional rodeo competition, from bull riding and bucking broncs, to mutton bustin’ and calf roping. Watch the sun set over the Tetons while you enjoy the show!
6. Fireworks in Two Locations: Jackson and Teton Village
Fourth of July isn’t complete without a stunning fireworks display, and Jackson Hole turns out in fine style for this annual tradition. At 10 pm catch the fireworks in one of two locations. Fireworks will take place at both the base of Snow King Mountain in the town of Jackson and also at the base of the Tetons in Teton Village.
