An American Indian Experience
Enjoy this presentation from World-class Native American performers as they share rich cultural history through traditional song and dance as well as introduce new exciting vibrant styles and movements. This colorful cultural exhibition showcases the evolution of Native song and dance and was curated by the master of ceremonies, Chico Her Many Horses. Chico is the Oglala Lakota elder featured in the 2020 Wyoming PBS special Wacipi: Celebrating Native American Dance and Song filmed here at the Center for the Arts. Several of the performers were also included in the 2020 PBS special.
Performers have been selected from the Wind River Reservation, the Fort Hall Reservation, the Pine Ridge Reservation, the Rosebud Reservation, the Crow Reservation and the Blackfeet Reservation. Presented by Central Wyoming College (CWC) Jackson, CWC Institue of Tribal Learning, and Native American Jump Start.
