It was a sea of neon one-pieces as skiers and snowboarders gathered in Teton Village to celebrate a record year at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. With a total season snowfall of 605" it was certainly one to remember. Closing Day madness started a little bit later this year, not because the sun didn't really shine most of the afternoon and a sundeck apres wasn't really an option, but because there was still great snow to be had up until the last chair. Unlike most closing days when people make a few obligatory runs before hanging up the skis for the season, this year was different. Friends enjoyed face shots in Four Pines only minutes before they hesitantly surrendered to the fact that they would be the last of the year, despite continued snowfall and more in the forecast throughout the week.
But it was a day to celebrate and celebrate people did late into the evening. Jackson's best season in history was commemorated with thumping DJs, on-snow dance parties, costumes, and the infamous, inevitable crowd snowball fight.
